The Ebre Observatory is celebrating one year of collaboration with the European project T-FORS (Travelling Ionospheric Disturbances Forecasting System), aimed at detecting and predicting Travelling Ionospheric Disturbances (TIDs) in real time. Using artificial intelligence, the project has made significant advances in understanding and predicting these phenomena, highlighting its crucial role in improving the management of communications and satellite technologies.
Last February, the T-FORS project organised a course at KU Leuven University, Leuven, Belgium, with the aim of training new researchers in the emerging field of space weather. Participants received comprehensive training on the methodologies and tools needed to address the challenges of detecting and predicting TIDs.
