An Advanced Ionospheric Sounder (AIS), developed by the Italian Istituto Nazionalle di Geofisica e Vulcanologia, was installed in the Spanish Antarctic Station Juan Carlos I (BAEJCI) during the 2004-2005 survey. This digisonde makes measurements of the overhead ionosphere every 10 minutes.
Due to the limitation of electrical power production and its consumption, the ionospheric records are limited to the time in that the BAEJCI remains opened during the summer austral, since it is only during this period that there is enough electrical power to feed the AIS. The ionospheric records obtained in the BAEJCI are presented bellow.
Selecting a day, represented by the day number of year (January 1 is day 1, and Decemb 31 is 365 or 366), second page will open where the ionogram and the automatic measure are shown.
